A Sprinkler System for Fire Safety
Do you know that all our apartments will also have fire safety sprinkler systems? We had a long chat with the Fire Director about the safety aspects of the building. The travel distance from the fire escape to the furthest reaches was greater than the recommended norms. The travel distance from our main staircase from those points were well within the range specified and it’s an open staircase so collection of smoke is not a possibility. Yet he suggested that we provide for sprinkler systems in each room so ensure the safety of the residents.
At most times this will seem excessive and the problem is looked into only after a disaster occurs. So we decided to take his suggestions and plan it into the building.
End result: besides the sprinkler systems in the commercial areas which are MANDATORY, we will also be installing fire sprinkler systems in the residential areas too!
